I can’t tell you how many brides we talk to that when we ask their wedding colors they haven’t a clue or they have changed them 10 times and are now totally confused. As your go to source for all things weddings we are here to give you some beautiful color combos that we hope will help you decide on the perfect hues to make your wedding day completely beautiful and completely you!
There are several ways you can go about choosing your wedding scheme. It can come from a favorite color of the bride or groom, an object that you love or the season that you have planned your wedding for. It can be a combination of all of these and many more. For our purpose we are going to spend the next 4 weeks (Yes, you heard me right, FOUR WEEKS!) giving you some color schemes that are simply to die for that coordinate with, you guessed it, the season of your wedding. So we hope that you sit back, enjoy and find lots of inspiration!
First up to bat is the first season of the year, winter! When I think of of winter I think of crackling fires, hot chocolate and lots of earthy colors and textures. I love the smell of fresh pine and dream of snow covered trees, so when coming up with different ideas I turned to nature and drew inspiration from there.
I love the feel of this brown and yellow wedding. It is earthy and enchanting all at the same time. The beautiful twinkling lights give such a whimsical feel to the bare branches. With all of the different browns pulled from nature coupled with the loveliness of the yellow really make this color combo fun and different.
If yellow isn’t your style what about pops of red. Their are so many beautiful red flowers and berries that could be used for a winter wedding. To give it a different twist than the standard black, white and red wedding you can combine it with rich browns and warm ivories to give it that cozy feel.
Wanting something a little more understated. Think about doing an all white wedding. You can pair different shades of whites and creams along with lots of texture to give it a vintage feel.
Or what about adding a little twist to it with rich grays and silvers! It is much softer than the starkness of traditional black and white and if done correctly can really make a beautiful statement.
Want to add a little more color to your big day? You can use a beautiful aqua and white combo to really add some sparkle. The coolness of the blue is a really nice change of pace and is so much fun to work with.
You know everyone’s infatuation with purple these days so I couldn’t write a post on color without including it!
Or why not go with something completely out of the norm with lots of bold color! I love the fact that the combination of this blue and green with sudden pops of yellow and pink are completely unexpected for a winter wedding. The rough texture of the wood and vibrant colors really add a bold statement to the simplicity of the design.
I hope we have given you some wonderful ideas and lots of inspiration to draw from for your winter wedding. Don’t forget to tune in next week when we bring you some lovely ideas for spring weddings. Until then, have a fabulous weekend!
