I know I said we had a huge announcement for this Friday’s post but y’all, it is so amazing that I just can’t keep it in any longer! So here goes nothing………………

WE ARE BUILDING A VENUE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel I should type this post all in caps lock because it is that amazing and I feel like shouting it from the roof tops but I will spare you! We have been dreaming of this for so many years and it is finally happening! Last month we purchased several lots in Downtown Beaumont on the corner of Calder and Ewing. We love the Historic District and we have been so excited with all of the things the City of Beaumont has been doing to reinvent downtown and we are so blessed to be a part of it! I have so much more to tell you but it will have to wait till Friday!

Fabulous Friday: Vintage Weddings

Whoever predicted that vintage weddings would be a top trend for 2012 was right on the money. Nuptials are becoming more and more romantic with frills and lace and tea stained doilies. From Grandma’s vintage Tiffany comb to handmade favors Bride’s are also choosing to take a very personal approach to their vintage weddings. So if you haven’t yet guessed it this weeks Fabulous Friday post is oozing with vintage inspired goodness. We have inspirations from cakes and flowers to favors and invitations and everything in between. I hope you enjoy this weeks Fabulous Friday: Vintage Weddings post.

Let’s start your weekend off with something sweet. These beautifully frilly cakes are amazing. They are so romantic with the fondant lace and sugar flowers! Or instead of going with one large cake opt for a smaller one and then do mini sweet treats for your guest. Homemade pies and petit fours are always yummy.

Handmade favors are a must for anything vintage. From Aunt Martha’s homemade jelly to paper cones filled with your favorite childhood cookie all add a personal touch to your big day. Guest will appreciate the thoughtfulness and effort you put into it.

It’s all about the little details that will keep them talking about your big for months to come.

Use your family tea service to serve coffee or to add a little sparkle to the tablescape. Or heirloom china from you and your groom’s family for the place settings. Complete the look with lush flowers and toss in some burlap and fabric flowers for some interest and texture. (You know I couldn’t write a post without mentioning burlap)

Speaking of flowers, don’t stick with a plain jane bouquet for your special day. Pump up the glam factor with a brooch bouquet filled with all kinds of treasures from your family and flea market finds. Want a little less sparkle and a lot more romance? Combine fresh and fabric flowers for a unique look. The more frayed the flowers are the better. Both make great keepsakes.

Let’s not forget about the Belle of the Ball, the beautiful Bride. Opt for a romantic fascinator instead of a veil and use a jeweled clutch to tuck your lipstick in. The day is about the two of you so take advantage of the opportunity and go all out. It’s not everyday that you get to get this dolled up.

And last but certainly not least are some amazing vintage inspired invitations. Aged papers and romantic fonts really set the tone for your vintage wedding. I like to think of invitations as a preview to your big day. They let the guest know what to expect and get them excited for what’s to come.

Fabulous Friday: Rental Items Part II

I will start this week’s post with a confession, we have a major shopping addiction. Let me be more specific, Kathy and Carmen have a major shopping addiction. They have an addiction to antique shops and estate sales. It has even gone so far as for them to sign up to receive weekly emails of all of the estate sales in our area. They wake up in the wee hours of the morning to grab the best finds and usually go back the next day to see if there is anything they missed. I know that when I answer my phone and hear both of them laughing that they have just left some sale and have the car jam-packed with goodies stuffed into every available space. Sometimes they even have to go back a second time to get the rest of their loot. They have successfully filled 2 storage buildings, several garages, an attic and now a 1000 square foot warehouse to the brim. All of this to say that their shopping addiction leads to major scores for all of you! They always manage to find that perfect accessory for all of our events. Last week I gave you a sneak peek at some of our amazing rental items that they have found and today I will show you another huge batch of it.
