This past weekend we had a sweet celebration to mark my girl’s 2nd birthday! Sophi has completely taken after me in her love of all things sweet and one of our favorite activities is to make “ukcakes” together.  She has mastered the mixer! So when deciding on a theme for this year’s party it was simple, cupcakes, candy and more cupcakes! I also knew that we wanted to embrace the fact that her birthday falls just 5 days before Halloween so we focused on the classic colors black and orange.  The end result was a fabulous Halloween inspired celebration with a sweet vintage twist!  So sit back and enjoy because we have LOTS of pictures for you and when I say lots of pictures I mean it! We took over 600 but don’t worry, I have narrowed it down to some of my favorites! Ha! 🙂

As the guest arrived they were greeted with a sign pointing them to the direction of the party. On the gift table we had pictures of the birthday girl throughout her 2nd year and an abundance of s’mores favors made with ghost marshmallows! The guest were asked to sign one of Sophi’s favorite Halloween books so she will always remember who came to celebrate with her!

We draped the tables in orange and black satin table cloths with custom toppers. The centerpieces included giant black and orange lollipops, Whosie Wands (also known as wedding wands) over sized orange pinwheels and a mix of real and glittery pumpkins and gourds.

We had more pictures of the birthday girl on the tables and each guest had a handmade party hat and pumpkin pail waiting on them at their seat.  My favorite part of the tables were the giant 36″ ballons that we had floating from the middle!

The birthday girl had her own table to sit at to open gifts and blow out her candles complete with a personalized pennant banner and her own Whosie Wand with a giant bell!

There were a lot of activities for the kiddos to participate in but the two that were back by popular demand were bobbin for apples and pumpkin decorating. The birthday girl totally cheated at the bobbin for apples!

We had lots of food for the guest to nibble on from custom popcorn cones and veggie cups to ham and cheese sliders and the classic Halloween favorite, mummy dogs!

To wash it all down we had water with custom water proof labels and Whosie brew complete with homemade sippy cups made from mason jars!  Not to mention vintage paper straws, everything taste better out of a cool paper straw!

Now onto what you have all been waiting on…….. the candy table! I have been talking about it for months and I promise you, it was worth the wait.

We draped this table, along with the food table with black satin table cloths and topped them with ORANGE BURLAP!!!! You all know how much I love burlap and the fact that we can get it in different colors is beyond amazing! We added a vintage Halloween garland and a custom monogrammed banner with the birthday girls logo!

Now for the candy!!!!! We had an overflow of orange and black candy ranging from gumballs to salt water taffy and tootsie rolls! Oh, and rock candy, everyone loves rock candy!

There were orange, black and white sixlets along with swirl pops and candy sticks with custom labels.

Did I mention the black and orange oreos? Yum!

The kiddos had to have something to take home all of their goodies so we had mini glass jars with chalkboard stickers that they could personalize. We also had custom printed paper goody bags! When I say kiddos I use the term very lightly, I think the “big kiddos” (adults) liked it just as much as the little ones!

And no birthday party would be complete without some baked goods from Whosie Cakes!  We had Whosie Shooters that were layered with Swiss chocolate cake and orange buttercream along with chocolate dipped marshmallows and yummy carmel apples covered with white and milk chocolate.

There was an abundance of the birthday girls favorite “ukcakes!” These were a classic vanilla cake topped with our special buttercream recipe and we encased them with custom cupcake wrappers and topped them with cute pics! Then we got really daring and dipped some of them in chocolate. I am not gonna lie, I held my  breath the entire time I dipped the cupcakes!

For Sophi’s cake we layered the chocolate cake and icing for a whimsical feel. We topped that with a over sized cake pick to match the cupcakes.

Sophi’s sweet shop was definitely a big hit and I am so thankful for all of our friends and family that came out to celebrate another great year with our girl!  And thank you to everyone who helped make this party such a huge success, you know who you are!

I know the birthday girl loved it! She looked out the backdoor yesterday morning and said, “where my party?”  🙂 I love that girl!

Happy birthday baby girl! I am so looking forward to another fabulous year with you!

Love Always,

Your Momma
